I Want One---Cool Photos on Wood

Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 4:13PM One of the great delights of summer in the (New York) City is the abundance of farmers' markets, to which farmers truck in their fresh fruits and vegetables from the foreign parts of the Country for us deprived city people. And the stuff is great, radishes big as your fist, bright green spinach, delectable baby carrots.
And, at the further reaches of the food stalls, there are artists hawking their wares. This past week a visit to the Union Square farmers' market included a stop at the stall of Michael J. Murray, and we fell in love with his work. He said his girlfriend gave him the idea of getting his photos onto wooden blocks, which he does by an incredibly time-consuming process which is beyond the Stylehound's reach of understanding.
But what great photos. Here is his site:

I have grown my own fresh herbs and vegetables this year. There's nothing better than home grown and cooked vegetables.
