Sneak Peak at Design Sponge

Monday, August 24, 2009 at 9:52AM A blog we love: Design*Sponge.
A feather we love on Design Sponge: Sneak Peek, in which the reader is taken inside the home of a designer (or, in some cases, a couple who run a design operation together).
Haven't you wondered sometimes if a designer's own home looks as great as they make a client's home look? Or have you worried that designers save all the good stuff for themselves?
The Sneak Peek featured today is on Elisa Carlucci, who has worked for some heavy-hitting corporations (Pottery Barn, Calvin Klein Home) and now has come back to New York to work on developing products with a New York designer. Here's a sample:
:
You can see the whole story and more photos here:

But the real eye candy is in the list of other homes in the Sneak Peek feature, which are all archived on the site here: http://www.designspongeonline.com/category/sneak-peeks
Beware: there are like, hundreds of them (okay, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration) and you could well sit there browsing through them until Labor Day.

My gran had a clock like that on the wall - takes me right back to different era. I used to imagine that the shapes on the ends of the spokes were edible - maybe like giant sugared almonds, yum!
Love Love Love this style of decor! Awesomely awesome!
This room looks so simple yet its so beautiful. Is that a watermelon in the cabinet?
