Bringing Nature Indoors

Anyone who loves the great outdoors may want to bring some of it indoors.  Tucker Robbins introduced his very organic furniture to the delight of many nature lovers.  Robbins traveled around the world, choosing from native cultures the best sustainable materials to create his furniture.

On our cover, is the tongue-in-cheek Human chair, also made from recycled hardwoods and ebonized to a dark finish. Much of Tucker Robbins designs have a primitive look but with a sophisticated edge.

Below is the Tokuro armoire made by natives of the Philippines. Its doors are made from sustainable rattan and bamboo and its frame from recycled mountain pine.  The natural coffee table with its unfinished edges is made from salvaged tropical hardwoods such as kumbuk.

Take a look at his site for more furniture at Tucker Robbins.

These furniture are just great! It's amazing how you incorporated the indoors with a Lanai touch. Great work.

Love how these pieces use sustainable or salvaged materials. More contemporary designers should start moving this way.

I love Tucker Robbins! You can also use reclaimed wood from local sources to make beautiful furniture without the carbon footprint. Thanks for sharing!

Great work of art.Woodworking is one thing, but wood crafting is at an extreme end.Really artistic and organic piece of work.Even more valuable when a product is constructed using used items.
