DIY Wall Art

While flipping through the latest issue of Readymade magazine, I was stopped short by a tiny DIY-story about wall stenciling contributed by Ed Roth, a very hip stencil designer and author of the book 'Stencil 101 Decor.' The project - a simple gold honeycomb design on a turquoise wall - looked so clean and cool.
Intrigued by the possibilities in my own home (there is a wall in my bedroom begging for a little special attention), I dug around on etsy and discovered Cutting Edge Stencils. Cutting Edge creates and sells unique stencils in every kind of pattern, from a classic damask or diamond, to an organic creeping vine, to a tree surrounded by butterflies in flight. Each is more charming than the last, and the thin stencil sheets look very easy to work with. With a bit of tape, paint, and a roller you could transform a space in a matter of minutes. Money is a big problem for most of the people now days, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t decorate your home. Contemporary furniture and interior decorations can be expensive. Luckily, there are several DIY projects (do-it-yourself) you can do to help give your home a little more style on limited budget. Always look for doing renovations on your existing fixtures rather than buying new pieces. In the bedroom for example, you could make it look more elegant by adding some style to your existing headboard. Adding wall art to the home is another good idea towards home improvement and interiors. So there might be so many other meaningful ideas as well which don’t cost us anything but just our time. This wall stenciling stuff is way cool. I'm not too fond of the colors but now you gave me some ideas to try out. I'm wondering what other designs are available. The round one makes me a bit dizzy, lol.
