Hacking the Furniture

Here's an idea we like: a blog called Ikea Hacker. Not high-concept, but great-concept: take a piece of furniture---anything at all---you bought at Ikea, and re-purpose it. Make it over into something of your own, or find a new use for it. It's a great idea for up-cycling, and it's quite a good time-waster---er, I mean source of entertainment and knowledge---to see the clever new uses people have come up with for their Ikea products.

It's here: http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/

Even better, for many products they include instructions on how to do the make-over yourself. They welcome your submissions. If you submit something to them, let us know!

I love that - what a great idea and certainly cheaper than buying http://www.wooden-furniture-store.co.uk" rel="nofollow">oak furniture - which can often be expensive.
