Beautiful Things From Japan

If you think Japanese interior design means nothing more than shoji screens and tatami mats, take a look at the work of Japanese designer Oji Masanori. His pieces are elegant, spare, and you get the feeling that he's paid very close attention to every detail that goes into making a work of art.aside_oji1

On his website, he says, "I am mainly working on designing living products.I have dedicated myself in creating them while considering a design which may connect various things gently and comfortably everyday.I have designed not only a product itself but also its package and graphics while considering overall process of how a product is born."

I’m really pleased to have donated to Japan, I can’t physically be there to help but at least my donation will! I have always been attached to the Japanese culture since a child and watched tons of Anime. Japan is recovering slowly and sooner or later Japan will turn to be just as it was before the disaster, but Japan will will never forget this.

My wife is Japanese and she loves zakka. It is her dream to open a shop in Australia that sells living products just like Masanori makes. She currently teaches Japanese. If you want to learn Japanese living in Japan is the best way. You need to understand Japanese culture to truly speak Japanese.

The Japanese use the concept of "ma," the distance or space between two objects as the core of their designs. Ma is also described as a consciousness that imparts a feeling or particular sense on a person entering a room.

Contemporary designers in Japan use ma to design a room. When a piece such as a chair, sofa or bed, is placed in a room, a Japanese designer will focus on the space around the item to create the ambiance for the room. This technique is particularly useful in Zen design where simplicity and technology meet art and function.

Great information. We are now faced with the question of what to do next. It is Samsung's top of the line model. It has many wonderful features.
